The reproduction, made from finely striped silk taffeta, is for a modern body. The silk taffeta has purple and white stripes and is very similar to the original bodice. It is trimmed with polyester velvet instead of silk velvet which was used on the original. The reproduction was not created from the pattern draft which is of the original bodice. It was made for a modern size 4 with a 26" waist measurement, although the bodice ends above the natural waistline.
