Cream Linen Blouse

1910 -1920 Cream womans blouse [Handkerchief Linen]
Overview: Long sleeved handkerchief linen blouse has one-piece sleeves with 3" turn-back cuffs that close with 2 buttons.
Construction: The machine-made blouse closes down center front with 3 small white mother-of-pearl buttons; two additional buttons under the collar allow the narrow V neckline to be shortened. There are decorative tucks at shoulders. It was made with French seams and has a turned-back hem top-stitched at the bottom edge. The blouse has elaborate drawn work on the collar and sleeve cuffs.
Trim: At the end of each row of drawn work are small rectangles made with the thread drawn out from that area.
Damage: There are several discolored spots on the blouse. Only two of the original buttons remain. The wrinkles were not removed to avoid adding additional stress.
