Papua New Guinea 1900 -1950 Brown womans SE Asia [Cotton and Raffia]
Overview: The fum, or mask, is made from woven fiber painted in shades of brown. The fiber is supple although it is not soft or smooth. It consists of two pieces, a top portion or bodice, and a skirt and has both male and female aspects.

Provenance: The two-piece mask was donated to the Department of Dramatic Art for the NowesArk Collection by Harriet Herring in 2010, who obtained it in Irian Jaya which is located in Indonesia between the Philippines and Australia.
