Overview: This two piece garment, woven from coconut palm, was used traditionally to keep the rain off workers in rice paddies.

Provenance: Donated to the Department of Dramatic Art for the NowesArk Collection by Harriet Herring in 2010. Identified as being from Southern Japan.
Damage: In remarkably good shape and remains flexible.
